Policy and Advocacy

Our main focus under this category is to enhance the working of Indian Patent Office, bring greater transparency in its working, and facilitate Government in developing Policy for India.

We provide proactive business solution through research, interactions at the highest political level and global networking.

Outreach and Capacity Building

Under this area we organize many IPR awareness programmes across the country with a view to create greater understanding of IP laws to domestic industry, create vibrant IP culture in India, make public aware of how IP can be used as a business tool, how to harness IP for Nation Development etc.

We also work tirelessly towards sensitizing judiciary on quality and speedy adjudication of IP related matters, building capacities of enforcement agencies including Custom Officers, Industry bodies, IP practitioners etc.

FICCI-IPR Division is working towards

• Making enforcement of IP Rights more effective.
• Facilitating Government in bringing out an Innovation law for India.
• Amendments in Patent rules for removing ambiguities and streamlining the working of patent offices.
• Improving effectiveness of Patent offices through continuous orientation programmes to make them more user friendly and responsive to industry needs
• Creating awareness about inherent benefits in filing patent applications through electronic gateway (E-Filing) and working with Government to incentivize users who file patent application through E-filing
• Assist Government in creating digitized database containing patent applications and enabling online public access.
• Increasing awareness about the role of Intellectual Property in today's knowledge economy.
• Training police and custom officers on effective protection of Intellectual Property Rights
• Sensitizing Judiciary on adjudication of IP disputes.
